Military state democracy 311/7/2022 ![]() ![]() Machil: Army court sentences five soldiers to lifeįirst lets put this anti-national stupidity aside. TLDR India exists outside of news media houses. It's the news cycle followed by the event that disturbed me. I appreciate the bold move and don't mind it, as long as it doesn't lead to a war. Note: For the record, I do 100% believe surgical strikes happened. We don't compare sacrifices made by each individuals, and put someone on a pedestal where they cannot be doubted, questioned, criticized or not blindly trusted. We still keep high regard for honest and hard working army men/women, and also understand that we have millions of other hard working individuals, who sacrifice their lives, blood, sweat, tears and everything possible to serve the country or people they care about. In a Democracy, we greatly value the sacrifice made by our armed forces, honor our dead soldiers and give them as much of a respect as humanly possible, but we also recognize that a job doesn't make someone above scrutiny or criticism. The lower rank soldiers remain a pawn in the game of the big league generals and the politicians, who say their name couple of times, reward their families with some cash and then forget they ever existed. Even if the people who are sacrificing their lives are lower rank soldiers, and people who are collecting all the rewards are the people giving commands. In a Democracy, abuse of law and violation of human rights which are not permitted in the constitution, are punished and given due credence.įinally, in a Military state, everyone holds the army to the highest possible regard because of amazing sacrifice they are making and hard work they are doing. ![]() So, any violation of human rights and abuse of law by the military is overlooked for the greater good, because they have more important things to accomplish. In a Military state, places with greater degree of tension or violence are controlled by military themselves. So when someone points that out, that person isn't shunned automatically in all media combined. In a Democracy, we understand that military originates from people like us, who are also capable of making mistakes and do something bad, even if they have the best intentions. In a Military state, the entire machinery gets behind people who say anything against the interest of military, because interest of military is always interest of the nation, therefore, machinery must suppress those who are against interest of the nation. In a Democracy, we talk, we debate and discuss things with military and our people, without being labeled anti-national and a foreign agent. Everything they say or do, is in the best interest of the nation, hence everyone must accept it. In Military state, you are not allowed to doubt or question the Military forces. Since everyone is feeling extremely patriotic these days, I figured we need to put forth a difference between the 2 for those who are confusing them with each other. Usually, Pakistan is a Military state and India is a Democracy. ![]()
